The Storm Inside by Alexis Anne Review

“The only thing holding me back was my heart. You know, the broken one.
It knew if Jake and I got back together we’d make our past relationship look like child’s play. It would be a sweet footnote to this new, torrid love affair. ‘Jake and Eve 2.0’ would be an uncontrolled explosion of sex and adoration.

Uncontrolled explosions were dangerous. Everyone knew that.
And yet, I couldn’t seem to stop myself from playing with the matches…” ~Eve

Loving someone and being in love aren’t always the same thing.

That’s what Eve Daniels is trying to come to terms with when Jake Spencer suddenly returns to her life after ten years of silence. Haunted by a past he had no power to control, Jake left everyone and everything behind in hopes of saving Eve from his demons. His one regret was breaking her heart.

From the moment they reconnect, it is clear to Eve the passion, brilliance, and determination that first attracted her to Jake are stronger than ever. So strong that fighting their pull seems useless. But falling back in love isn’t as easy as letting the walls down. Eve soon realizes the choices they’ve both made come with consequences. Ones that will test how deep her love runs for a man living with a storm inside.
**Recommended for ages 17+ due to explicit language and sexual situations**

My Thoughts:
4.5/5 Stars

I really enjoyed this book. It had a great storyline and kept me turning the pages.
The characters were likeable and relatable. Eve is trying to get over the guy in her past... She is content spending countless hours at work and building relationships with men who will never compare to her one true love. When Jake, her ex, shows up at her house her world is turned upside down. Her feelings are torn and she can't decide if she wants to let her guards down... Together they embark on a second chance at love.

The Storm Inside kept me interested through the whole book. Jake was the sole reason. He was damaged, yet dominant... controlling, yet caring... sexy & successful. Him and Eve's romance had a real feel. Things weren't always perfect. There were struggles they had to overcome to make their relationship work.

While I liked the story a lot I would have liked to see more of the family drama instead of just retellings of it. There were also parts that felt wordy... All in all I recommend this book to all mature readers. It was sexy, consuming, and entertaining.

Monster in his Eyes by J.M. Darhower Review

Ignazio Vitale is not a good man.

I suspect it, the first time I see him, sense the air of danger that surrounds the man. He has a way of commanding attention, of taking control, of knowing what I'm thinking before I even do.

It's alarming and alluring. It's dark and deadly. It's everything I've ever wanted but the last thing I truly need. Obsession.

It doesn't take him long to draw me into his web, charming me into his bed and trapping me in his life, a life I know nothing about until it's too late. He has secrets, secrets I can't fathom, secrets that make it so I can't walk away, no matter how much I beg him to let me go. I see it sometimes in his eyes, a darkness that's both terrifying and thrilling. He's a monster, wrapped up in a pretty package, and what I find when I unmask him changes everything.

I want to hate him.

Sometimes, I do.

But it doesn't stop me from loving him, too.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This book is intended for a mature audience only, due to some dark and erotic content.

My Thoughts...
5/5 Stars

J.M. Darhower did it again! Another fantastic book with a gripping storyline.

Karissa is an average college girl with average worries... grades, what to wear?, a protective mother. She also has a troubled past though. Her father left at an early age, leaving her slightly damaged. When she meets Naz her world is turned upside down. She loves him, yet hates him.... is scared of him, yet seeks him for protection. Together they embark on an intense erotic ride. What happens when secrets are revealed though?? What happens if Naz isn't who she thought he was??

I loved the intensity and need in this book. The characters had this addiction to one another that was all consuming. Naz was a total book boyfriend! He was dark, mysterious, controlling, and sexy as ....!

I usually don't like books with tons of sex scenes, but this book worked! There was definitely enough outside story to keep me drawn in and wanting more. I can't stress enough how much I loved both characters! Karissa was charming & Naz was well... Naz.

I knew there was something up, but I never expected the ending.
Can't wait for the next book!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Nowhere but Here by Renee Carlino Review

A jaded Chicago reporter in her twenties unexpectedly finds love in Napa Valley when she’s assigned to spend a week with a famously reclusive genius in this rich and deeply satisfying contemporary romance by the USA TODAY bestselling author of Sweet Thing.

Kate Corbin has lost her spark. A year ago, she had a handsome boyfriend and a budding career as a reporter at a popular Chicago newspaper. But after the woman who raised her passed away, leaving her lost and alone, she fell into a rut—and never got out. Now she’s stuck writing fluff pieces about lipstick and wine, and feeling trapped in a relationship that’s going nowhere.

Trusting that the hungry, ace reporter is buried somewhere deep inside, Kate’s boss and mentor gives her the opportunity to jump-start her career. The assignment: spend a week interviewing R. J. Lawson, a famously reclusive tech genius who disappeared years ago but recently reemerged as the owner of a well-respected Napa Valley winery.

Kate jumps at the chance, but the trip begins in disaster, both personally and professionally. After alienating R.J., her only saving grace is Jamie, a charming vineyard hand who shows her the beauty of wine country—and stirs her aching heart. It doesn’t take long for Kate and Jamie to fall hard, and for Kate to rethink her life in the city. But the week ends with a heartbreaking journey back to Chicago that sends Kate reeling, wondering what went wrong in those four perfect days.

My Thoughts:
5/5 Stars

I loved this book so much!
The story sucked me in from page one and the romance consumed my heart.

Kate is a journalist, lacking enthusiasm about her stories. Her life is blah. She has an uninterested boyfriend and the excitement of her day lies on the L Train with a crazy guy (Or so everyone says). When she is given a story on R.J. Lawson, a mysterious business man, her life is turned upside down. She heads to a Napa winery with hopes of finding inspiration for her story. What she doesn't expect to find is love...

When she arrived at the Winery and ran into Jamie, Swoon, I was so hopeful that it would turn into something beautiful. He was just everything a book boyfriend should be... charming, sweet, sexy, caring, and great with his hands. Diabetes is near and dear to my heart so that aspect was special too! It was cute to see Kate hide snacks in her bag. I also loved how Jamie wrote Kate itineraries. The way he wanted her in comfy clothes just added to the perfectness of their connection.

The Author did a wonderful job making you feel as though you were living in the characters shoes. There were tons of emotions to be felt... hurt, hope, love, and anger. I wasn't expecting the twists in the story and that aspect made it even better!

The ending was perfect and the wedding was unforgettable!

I highly recommend this book

The Blackstone Affair Series Review

The Blackstone Affair Series
by Raine Miller

My Thoughts:
4.5/5

This series is about Ethan Blackstone the Sexy, Dominant, Protective, Billionaire and Brynne the American Beauty. Together they deal with their haunting pasts and inevitable romantic feelings towards one another.
These books have it all... angst, romance, sexual encounters, and suspense. I found myself in love with Ethan from chapter 1 of book one and the love just continued to grow.
The third book was my favorite, Ethan let his guard down and took things to the next level with Brynne. In this book there was a surprise death that left me shocked. The mystery had me on the edge of my seat and the romance left me in fantasy land.
If you like a hot read with a solid story line... This one is for you!!

The first book in the bestselling Blackstone Affair trilogy! Naked desire. Secret Satisfaction. An affair you’ll never forget.

Brynne Bennett has left scandal in her past and is living the good life. An American grad student at the University of London and part-time photographic model, she’s getting back on track with lots of hard work and focus on a career in art conservation. When successful and charismatic London businessman Ethan Blackstone buys her nude portrait, he wants to possess more than just her image. He wants Brynne in his bed, serving him in every way possible. He has no trouble voicing his desires, and he isn’t taking “no” for an answer.

At first, his dominant nature captivates her, but it isn’t clear if the force of his powerful desire will ultimately awaken or dispel the demons Brynne is carrying inside. There are secrets on both sides of this relationship—huge ones. Can Ethan erase the scars of Brynne’s past so that she can reveal her true self to him? Or will the shadows cast by Ethan’s own mysterious former life destroy their chance at happiness?

Naked is the sizzling, unforgettable story of what happens when a strong woman meets the one man powerful enough to strip away all her defenses, leaving her standing naked and perfect before him.

The second part in The Blackstone Affair series! Looming danger. A love worth fighting for. A man who’ll go all in.

Ethan Blackstone has a problem on his hands. He’s broken Brynne’s trust and she’s left him. He’s unwilling to live without her and isn’t giving up—he’s dead-set on getting his beautiful American girl back. The passion between them was explosive, but the secrets they hid from each other are dark and chilling and are powerful enough to destroy their shot at a life together. With political threats now directed at Brynne, Ethan is running out of time and he’ll need to gather all his strength
and agility to protect her from the dangers that could take her away from him forever. Will Ethan be able to save Brynne from a past that keeps her locked in fear? Will he ever feel the warmth of her touch, the solidity of her trust again? This is a love-struck man who is willing to do whatever it takes to possess the heart of the woman he loves. He’ll go to any lengths to protect her. He’ll go all in.

Here is the fiery story of what happens when two people surrender to a love so great it can heal the scars of the past and give way to a life of pure, rapturous ecstasy.

The third part in The Blackstone Affair series: A love on the brink of being destroyed. The fight of a lifetime to keep it alive. Big surprises are on the horizon for Ethan and Brynne as they struggle to adjust to what life has thrown at them. Demons from the past are threatening to destroy the passionate bond they’ve forged despite their vow that nothing will ever keep them apart. A truly devastating loss coupled with the promise of a new hope opens their eyes to what is most important, but is it possible for the lovers to move on from the painful histories that continue to haunt them? A stalker is still lurking in the shadows, plotting evil amidst the distraction of the 2012 Olympic games in London. Brynne and Ethan are on the cusp of losing everything as the stakes rise. Will they yield to circumstances beyond their control or will they give every ounce of fight they have left to save each other and win the ultimate prize of a life together? Eyes Wide Open is a passion-wrought story that shows us what pure love can achieve when tested and what the heart can accomplish despite danger and adversity.

Come Undone by Jessica Hawkins Review

Olivia Germaine has already found love. Devoted wife, loyal friend, determined career woman - she’s created the life she always envisioned.

But when Olivia locks eyes with a handsome stranger across a crowded room, he peers a little too closely and sees emotions she thought she’d buried long ago.

David Dylan, alleged playboy and eternal bachelor, challenges Olivia to confront the life she’s built and to make decisions that could either lead to happiness . . . or regret.

Will Olivia be able to draw the line between lust and love?

And can David respect that line

My Thoughts:
A great story with lots angst & romance.
4/5 Stars

This book is about a married woman (Olivia) who has a great job, loving husband, and strong friendships. She feels content in life until she sees sexy David across the room. After days of thinking about the mystery guy, she finally comes face to face with him. There is an instant connection and Olivia can't help but ask what it would be like to be with another man.

David knows he shouldn't feel the way he does, but he can't help it. Going back and forth between keeping his distance and not being able to get enough, he finally loses himself within the beautiful Olivia. Together the sparks fly and their romance is quite addicting.

I found myself intrigued by this book. I was in love with David and despised Bill (her husband). I honestly thought he was cheating, the way he was out of town all of the time. He was always pressuring Olivia, so I totally understand why she would have eyes for someone else.

I enjoyed this book a lot... I just wish there was more David and less friend time. The friend time reminded me of Sex & the City. Too many side stories and not enough of the main characters. There was however some suspense, which really added to the story.
I LOVE SOME DRAMA.

Overall this is a great read. I recommend it to mature readers!

A Beautiful Mess by T.K. Leigh Review

RECOMMENDED FOR READERS 18 AND UP DUE TO STRONG LANGUAGE, SEXUAL SITUATIONS, AND MILD VIOLENCE.

What happens when you lose everyone that promised they would always be there for you? How can you protect the few pieces of your shattered heart that remain?

Olivia Adler is a woman with a troubled past. After losing her parents at the young age of six and being raised by an uncle who she lost years later, she refuses to get attached to anyone, including friends. For the past decade, she has been able to remain unattached to any man, too worried about losing someone to get too close. Until Alexander Burnham walks into her life one night and changes everything. But he has issues of his own. And he’s keeping a secret that could turn her world upside-down. Will Olivia let Alexander in enough for him to get close and protect her from a force threatening her very existence, or will she push him away, scared of letting Alexander in, in order to protect her heart?

A Beautiful Mess is the first installment of a three part series sure to captivate the heart with a story of secrets, courage, and love.

My Thoughts:
A Beautiful Mess was edgy, romantic, and sexy.
4/5 Stars

I was instantly sucked into Alexander & Olivia's world.
The storyline was fast paced and kept me guessing.

The book starts with a young woman being attacked and rescued by the gorgeous Alexander. She doesn't know it then, but he is the same little boy who rescued her many years ago. As her and Alexander grow closer, feelings run deep. Together they form an intimate relationship and Alexander does everything to keep her safe.
The book was packed with mystery and romance.
The sex scenes were erotic and hot! Their connection was undeniable and their love was intoxicating.

My only complaint is at the end of the book I was left with my jaw hung open. I kept flipping and flipping... like no this cannot be how it ends! I am now so anxious to see where the Author takes the characters next.

My Thoughts:

4.5/5 stars
Carter is dominant, charming, & sexy as hell.

This book starts with a beautiful young woman meeting the one and only, Carter Morgan. He catches her attention immediately and sparks fly. While Carter tries to win her over with his dominant nature, expensive gifts, and sexy sexcapades... She is trying to keep him at arms length.

I loved this book. I thought is was a sexy read, that had a packed storyline. Their relationship kept things interesting because it was anything but hearts and flowers. The sex was hot and the romance was intense.

The flow of the book was good. It sucked me in from the beginning and had me wanting more at the end.

Driven by K. Bromberg Review

Rylee Thomas is used to being in control. But she’s about to meet the one man that just might make her enjoy losing it…

I am the exception to the rule.

In a world full of willing women, I’m a challenge to the roguish and achingly handsome Colton Donavan. A man used to getting exactly what he wants in all aspects of life. He’s the reckless bad boy constantly skating that razor thin edge toward out of control, on and off of the track.

Colton crashes into my life like a tornado: sapping my control, testing my vulnerabilities beyond their limits, and unintentionally penetrating the protective wall around my healing heart. Tearing apart the world I rebuilt so carefully with structure, predictability, and discipline.

I can’t give him what he wants and he can’t give me what I need. But after a glimpse beneath his refined exterior into the dark secrets of his damaged soul, can I bring myself to walk away?

Our sexual chemistry is undeniable. Our individual need for complete control is irrefutable. But when our worlds collide, is the chemistry enough to bring us together or will our untold secrets and battle of wills force us apart?

My Thoughts:

4.5/5 Stars

The Author did a great job writing about emotional grief and sexy new encounters.
I was hooked from page one and on the edge of my seat the remainder of the story.

The Characters were fresh and unique. Rylee was a strong, hard working, broken young woman and Colton was an edgy race car driver. Did I mention Colton is Sexy as hell! and dominant in so many ways.

As the book progresses their secrets become revealed, and a beautiful romance starts to bud. A lot of people compared this book to Fifty Shades, but to me this book deserves to be put in a category of it's own. While the story has a dominant male and a contract there is so much more to this story. I felt for Rylee and my heart ached for her loss. I also loved seeing Colton's soft side. The romantic dates and interactions with the kids made this book for me.

I highly recommend this book to everyone who is looking for a sexy, emotional, all consuming romance.

Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren Review

Description:

An ambitious intern.
A perfectionist executive.
And a whole lot of name calling.

Whip-smart, hardworking, and on her way to an MBA, Chloe Mills has only one problem: her boss, Bennett Ryan. He's exacting, blunt, inconsiderate—and completely irresistible. A Beautiful Bastard.

Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family's massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who'd been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative—completely infuriating—creature he now has to see every day. Despite the rumors, he's never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe's so tempting he's willing to bend the rules—or outright smash them—if it means he can have her. All over the office.

As their appetites for one another increase to a breaking point, Bennett and Chloe must decide exactly what they're willing to lose in order to win each other.

My Thoughts: Wow! This book was great!
5 out of 5 Stars
If you loved Fifty Shades & Bared to you, then this book is definitely for you.

I am not sure why a cocky, selfish personality is so appealing.... But it is. I fell in love with Mr. Ryan the moment I opened the book. The way he carried himself and took control of every situation made him my new Book Boyfriend !

Chloe was an intern at Mr. Ryan's office and dealt with his bossy, rude attitude everyday. They could not stand each other. Out of the blue though, their relationship takes a turn and they find themselves in a very sexual situation. Panties are torn and lines are crossed.

Throughout this book I found myself compelled and consumed by the character's relationship. I loved their sexcapades and the love/hate relationship they shared. The storyline had witty parts and the scenes were fun!
I highly recommend this book!!!

My Thoughts:
One of the best books I have ever read!
 5 Stars

I cannot praise this book enough.
It had a beautiful storyline with awesome characters!

Clare Murray, a single mother lost her husband to cancer. He was her one true love and
she spent years grieving.  Leah, her best friend pushes her to get back out into the dating scene, but she has never met someone to make her want to date again... that is until she meets Dr. Matthews.

"I locked eyes with Clare one more time, trying to memorize the emerald color that shined through them. It's true, a man could get lost in those eyes forever, but it wasn't going to be me." -Logan

Logan Matthews is a sexy man, with a player lifestyle. When he meets
Clare he feels an undeniable connection and wants nothing more than to be near her.
As their relationship progresses Maddie (Clare's daughter) becomes attached and
Clare finds herself completely head over heels. A huge surprise happens towards the
end of the book threatening to tear them apart.
A letter from Clare's Ex may just be the relationship saver.

"Did I mention you look amazing? Downright fucking beautiful" -Logan

This story brought so much to the table...
It had laughter, romance, friendship, heartbreak,
family issues, & of course sexiness!

The Author did an amazing job at writing a book that, you as a reader, related to.
I was surprised to find myself so emotionally connected to Clare & Logan.
I was a mess near the end, tears streaming down my face!
I will never forget this book & I am pretty sure
that Logan will forever be one of my book boyfriends~

Will Brynne let him or will the specters tormenting her resurface to destroy them both…

My Thoughts:
(If you loved 50shades & Bared to you.... You will love this one)

This book deserve 5+ Stars. It was a fantastic read!

The book starts with a sexy billionaire buying a nude portrait... That same night he meets the model and feels the need to take care of her. Through struggles and love they try to find their way to one another.

The characters were very likeable. Brynne is a young woman trying to overcome past struggles & Ethan is a gorgeous guy with lots of money. Together they are quite the pair. They fight, make love, fight and so on. The Storyline was different and I liked how it took place in another country. I loved how Ethan was protective and controlling, yet kind and romantic.  I have to admit I was kind of obsessed with this story and when it ended I was craving book 2 so bad.
It had romance, mystery, and emotional struggles... What more could you ask for?

Definitely a must read!

Entwined with You by Sylvia Day Review

What can I say...
Gideon just never disappoints!

Wow!  Sylvia Day did it again... 5+ stars from me.

The love story continues right where book two left off. Gideon is in a predicament, forcing his and Eva's relationship to be kept a secret. They cannot stand to be apart from one another, so he decides to become her next door neighbor. After time passes and struggles are dealt with... they can finally reveal their big news.

The love in this book is breathtaking, the romance is sexy as hell, and the progress they make in their relationship is huge! I love how the Author keeps things fresh. The way she throws in characters and adds to the suspense is fabulous. I could not ask for a better book. I am infatuated with Gideon and have been since page one of book one. I could only hope book 4 will be released soon... Because I honestly cannot wait to see where Sylvia takes Gideon and Eva!~

Anything He Wants by Sara Fawkes Review

Loved, Loved, Loved this 5 out of 5
If you liked Fifty Shades & Bared to You, you will love this book. Not only did it have hot sexy scenes, but it also had some intense suspense. The Author did a fab job at writing a unique storyline with relatable characters. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. The descriptions were on point and the love was intoxicating.  I found this to be a great read that I would recommend to all!
