Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynn Childs Review

This YA book was a cute 5 out 5 .

I love mermaids so when I found this book I had to read it. Such a fun short read. When two enemies start to grow feelings for one another a huge secret is revealed. With one kiss their lives are changed and challenges arise. The Author created a great storyline with wondeful characters. There is love, laughter, and friendship. The magical descriptions within this book were great. Definitely makes you want to be a mermaid princess that lives in a castle under the sea.

Release Date: January 25, 2013
Genre: Young Adult Paranormal

Blurb

Rewrite Redemption is a YA romance with paranormal/sci-fi elements.

She’s sixteen. He’s seventeen. They don’t know each other…at least not yet.
She has a secret and her whole life revolves around keeping it. Every few months and with little warning, she simply disappears, pulled into the past for hours or even days. She’s terrified it will happen in front of someone, changing her life forever. So far, the only witnesses have been her parents, and that didn’t end well. She has no control over it and no idea why it happens to her.
She wants answers.
He has answers—at least he understands what’s going on. He has a secret, too. He’s part of an organization that goes back in time to rewrite reality. But he also has a problem. He broke the organization’s number-one rule by altering his own timeline. As punishment, he’s been blocked from time travel, which is most unfortunate. Because the changes he made to his timeline, accidentally resulted in disaster for his family. A disaster he’s now prevented from repairing. No one can travel beneath the organization’s radar except a Shadow. But they’re rare, so rare he’s never even met one.
Then he moves to her town.

Excerpt
Rewrite Redemption is told in the alternating POVs of teenagers A. J. Jones and Constantine DeMille. It takes place primarily in Boulder, Colorado, in present day.

A. J. speaks:

It was a harsh awakening.

Pain hit first as I fought for consciousness. Panic followed, and I struggled to see in the glaring, noonday sun. I scrambled up, pain screeching through my head, stuff falling out of my arms, looking around frantically from between my fingers.

No one in sight.

My stupid hair was in my eyes and all crazy and tangled around me. I shoved what I could behind my shoulders and felt my head—a lump the size of a walnut made me wince. I searched for blood, but luckily my fingers came back dry. I wondered if I’d been out long. I sucked in a breath and blew it out slowly, trying to slow the pounding in my chest. But the throbbing in my head held my heart hostage, and it whacked against my chest like it was trying to escape.

I’m okay, I’m okay, I lied to myself—because I was freakin not okay.

One minute I was sleeping. The next I was panicking. And the next I was somewhere else entirely…to say nothing of sometime else.

Anger flooded my brain, pushing every cell in my body into a pulsing crescendo. It hurt so bad! I wanted to break something. I wanted to scream. I wanted to punch Fate, or God, or whoever was pulling the strings and screwing with me like this. But there was nothing to break and no one around to blame for yanking me out of bed and tossing me out the window of my own reality. And screaming in an unknown location—not a survival strategy.

Son. Of. A Bitch!

Author Bio-

My life has been rather unconventional. Born insanely curious into an authoritarian, religious family, I know what it’s like to not fit in. My teen years were a struggle, and I remember them in all their intensity. That’s why I like writing for young adults.
I grew up in Central America, surrounded by jungle, and was never too far from the ocean. I observed other cultures, including an indigenous tribe that, at the time, had seen little of the modern world. While there, I slept in a hammock in a bamboo hut, dressed in tribal clothing, and helped bring three babies into the world in at the tender age of fourteen. I survived a hurricane aboard an ocean liner, canoeing through alligator infested waters, P.E., my brother’s pet tarantulas, sky diving, parasailing over the Pacific shoreline, rock climbing, a ropes course blindfolded, and walking barefoot across hot coals. I’m not done having experiences.
I attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, but was so obsessed in my quest to understand human behavior; I left midstream to travel the country and study with people doing groundbreaking work in the field. I’m certified in Ericksonian Hypnosis, am a Master of Neuro-linguistic Programming and have worked with world-class athletes, including members of the U.S. Ski Team. I’ve completed advanced studies with some of the most brilliant minds of my time in the field of NLP and am a perpetual student of sociology and human behavior.
I live with my photographer husband in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies. I’m surrounded by trees. And I will always remain insanely curious.

Let Love Stay by Melissa Collins Cover Reveal

Synopsis:

If you’re lucky, you’ll fall in love – truly, madly and deeply in love. But what happens when that honest and pure love isn’t enough to erase your fears? What happens when your past rears its ugly head and threatens your future?

Maddy and Reid had that kind of love – the all-encompassing, Earth shattering, once in a lifetime kind of love. Then life happened. Old wounds that were thought to be long healed and scabbed over are ripped opened and they are forced to face the possibility that, maybe, they are not strong enough to fight their demons and embrace the light.

Together, they found out what love is, but now they will each need to heal on their own before they can ever be together again. They must face their fears and beat down their pasts in order to find their way through this crazy uphill battle called love.

They’ve let love in, but now, they need to find out how to Let Love Stay.

Excerpt:

I get out of the truck and walk over towards the two of them. Maddy’s back is to me as I approach her and her date, so she doesn’t see me right away. But once the guy sees me, she spins around to look at what has caught his eye.
Her face is shocked and when our eyes lock, my heart skips a beat. There’s a pull between us. As much as I hate to admit it, she owns me. Her eyes are magical. They dance with light and passion and when she looks at me, they are filled with love.
The love and passion that are sparkling in her emerald green eyes evaporate when she realizes the scene that I’ve just stumbled upon. I can only imagine what’s going through her mind, but I’m sure the images of me kicking Logan’s ass are flashing vividly through her mind.

I’m no more than a few feet from them when the guy pushes Maddy behind him to protect her from what he perceives as a threat. He’s not very far from the truth, but she’s not the one who needs protecting.
Menacingly close now, he pipes up. “Who the fuck are you? What do you want?” Okay, I’ll give the prick a little bit of credit for trying to stand up to me, but he has no clue what he’s competing against here.
The caveman in me wants to deck this guy and drag Maddy into a bed – any bed – and claim her, repeatedly, until she understands that she’s mine and no one else’s. I’m going to do that anyway, but hopefully I can refrain from knocking this guy on his ass. I’d like to have the use of my hands tonight.
My eyes never leave Maddy’s, but my words are directed at him. “Me? I’m the boyfriend, asshole.” Maddy’s eyes widen slightly as I say “boyfriend.” Did she really think we ever broke up?
I avert my gaze from Maddy for a minute to stare this douchebag down. “And who the fuck do you think you are?” He falters, not enough that most people would notice, but I’m in predator mode. I see his throat work hard to swallow past the newly formed fear. His pupils dilate slightly and the pulse beating in his neck picks up as adrenaline surges through him. If he thinks he’s going to win this battle, he is wrong – so fucking wrong.
He puffs out his chest as he says, “I’m Maddy’s date for tonight.” He snickers lightly as he says, “You know? She never mentioned a boyfriend when I asked her out. Must not be much of a boyfriend if she doesn’t even mention you.” He swells with pride at his snarky little quip. In the split second he looks away from me to gauge Maddy’s approval, I lay him flat on the ground as I drop my shoulder into his gut and take his legs out from underneath him with one of my own. I freaking love my takedown skills. I didn’t even have to bust up my hands. I’m definitely going to need them in a little bit.

I straddle over him and pull him up by the collar. “Whether she mentioned me or not, she’s mine, so lay the fuck off. Got it?”
Maddy still hasn’t said a word and I haven’t actually spoken directly to her. I’m pretty sure she understands my actions though. Wordlessly, I reach my hand out to her. This is her chance. If she still wants me, then she’ll come with me. This is who I am, who I’ve always been. If she can’t understand that I love her, that I want her more than anything, then it’s not because I haven’t tried as hard as I possibly could to prove it to her.
Hand still outstretched, I look her directly in the eyes, as I try to convey everything that I’m thinking, that I’m feeling. In what feels like an act of God, she understands me and laces her hand in mine.

Author Bio

I’ve always been an avid reader. Majoring in English Literature was a no brainer. Becoming a teacher and instilling my love for reading into my students was also a no brainer. I’ve spent the last ten years teaching and I’ve loved (mostly) every minute of it. When I was home on maternity leave for my third son, I discovered a new genre that sparked my creativity. My passion for writing sprang from my love of reading and once I knew I had a story to tell, I couldn’t wait to get it out there. I only hope that my readers enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Want to join the Triple M Motorcycle Club and get to know the hot, bad  boy bikers before book two comes out? The first book is only 99 cents  right now, and we've got less than two weeks to go before the journey continues.

"Austin Sparks crushes me against the pool table with his hips, the
roughness of his jeans rubbing against the smoothness of my thighs as
he pushes up my skirt with his warm hands.
'Get ready for this, beautiful.' "

Twenty-one year old Amy Cross's idea of a hot Saturday night is
curling up with her favorite book boyfriend and secretly sneaking a
bottle of her mother's wine. That is, until she meets Austin Sparks,
the biker boy with a past that burns like fire and a gaze she can't
look away from. Without knowing what she's doing or why she's doing
it, Amy ends up on the road with Austin traveling from one city to
another while learning things she's only ever read about in romance
novels.

At first it seems like Austin is Amy's fantasy come true, but as their
journey progresses, she starts to sense that Austin is running away
from something. Amy knows that she'll do whatever it takes to help
him find himself. What she doesn't expect is that she'll lose herself
in the process and how good it will feel to be free.

LOSING ME, FINDING YOU EXCERPT:

?Take 'em off. This is your next lesson. If you don't wear a skirt,
be prepared to take off your pants. Come on, sugar, let's get to it.
We've gotta hurry before somebody drives by and sees us.?
?You're serious?? I ask him, getting chills and a gut wrenching belly
ache. Oh God, yes. I can't believe I waited twenty-one years for
this feeling. It's incredible.
?As a heart attack,? Austin says, taking a drag on his cigarette and
tossing it to the ground, so he can smash it under his boot. I nibble
my lip for a moment and then start to unbutton my jeans. Austin's
eyes follow the motion and narrow when I pause with the zipper halfway
down.
?Take off your shirt,? I command him. I want to see what's under
there. Three times we've had sex and not once have I gotten to see
his chest and belly. He grins at me and obliges, tearing the black
fabric off and tossing it down alongside his vest.
Austin is ? Well, God, Austin is ripped. He's tight and muscular and
I can see every muscle in his belly as clear as day. His skin
stretches hot and slick over the firmness of his chest and stomach,
dipping into his pants with a sprinkle of sandy hair. Above his pecs,
he's got another skull tattoo surrounded by roses and on either side,
a gun pointing inwards. Sweat glides across the colorful piece of art
and gets caught between his muscles, sliding down and soaking into the
waistband of his jeans.
I practically tear my boots and pants off in my frenzy to touch him.
I can't wait.
?Panties,? he commands me, and I pause. Being pants-less in the
middle of the road is one thing, but being pantie-less is quite
another altogether.
?Austin ? ? He grins at me and reaches down, unzipping his own pants.
My gaze follows his hands involuntarily, mesmerizing me.
?Better hurry before somebody comes along and we get interrupted.?

Author E.I Jennings Friday Feature

Let's welcome Author E.I Jennings to the blog.
She has some great info to share with you all!

Hello there…
Let’s start with my bio:
I live in Derbyshire in the UK with my husband and two black cats. I have always had a keen interest in writing and a vivid imagination. At the age of 16 I wrote my first romance short story as a hobby and never thought about publishing. After a few jobs I re-evaluated my life and have become an author full time specialising in Paranormal Romance Erotica with the support of friends and family. I am an Indie author and published my first novel Rising Dawn in April 2013 which was quickly followed by the novella Burning Desire: Juliet's Story. I am currently working on the next instalment in the Jessica Dawn Series and am hoping to release Darkest Dawn September 2013. They are testament that through hard work, imagination and a little help from friends anything is possible and dreams can happen.

Novels:
My first novel Rising Dawn was published 15th April 2013 and follows Jess (a Pureblood vampire and written from her perspective) and Reuban (a wolf shifter). It is Paranormal Erotica so for adult reader only 18+
Jessica Dawn has felt alone all her life and a personal tragedy has set her on a path of revenge and self-destruction. Always searching and longing for the family she lost has meant that she has spent the last two years hiding and fighting in the shadows. One night her life would change again, thrown into a world she never knew existed she will find horrors, hope, friendship, love and a strength she did not think she had. She is a Pureblood; the only known Vampire Pureblood in existence and she has been protected all her life by a secret organisation called the Council. Reuban is an Alpha, a Wolf that has sworn his life to this women and in the process has lost his heart. He will see that no harm will ever come to her and she is destined to forever hold his soul. From the moment he disobeyed orders and interfered in her life he knew he could no longer deny his Wolf and she would be his. An old threat is rising, Reuban and Jess will have to fight together for their lives and their love, a love that has been written by Fate herself. But can they overcome new lies and truths that could destroy the very world they are part of? The Queen and her army must be stopped before she can break her bonds and return to this world bringing Hell along for the ride. Jessica never asked for this life but she sure as hell won’t be going down without a fight and Reuban will be by her side for every second – bring it on!

My Novella follows Juliet (a vampire) one of the secondary characters in Rising Dawn and Troy (an elder witch). My hope is that between novels I will continue to write novellas to explain the back stories to all my secondary characters as they have so much to tell. I published this 15th May 2013 and as you may have guessed is also Paranormal erotica.
Juliet has been living her life day by day for over four hundred years but being burnt at the stake can do that to a woman. A lover lost had burned deep within her veins ever since and continues to cloud her judgement. A Vampire with a broken heart is not someone to be messed with but the Council has given her the escape she needs. However she also acquires a troublesome nineteen year old in the process that is in danger of melting her heart. Fate is laughing in Juliet's face and situations are beginning to drag her designer clad ass through hell but with the help of friends a light is blooming on the horizon. Troy has lived with secrets all his life and his family have paid deeply for them at the hands of Juliet. His heart is torn between his love for her and the need for revenge but every time he sees her he cannot control his desires. He knows he can never replace the love she lost but he hopes he can open her heart again and make her realise she is not the 'Ice Bitch' she believes.

My current WIP is Darkest Dawn which follows on directly from Rising Dawn. The plot thickens and this time is written from two perspectives; Jess and her father (who I can’t tell you who it is as it would be a massive spoiler for Rising Dawn). I am hoping this will be released 1st September 2013.
The Darkest Days are finally upon us and the Daughters of Eve shall rise again.
Jess sacrificed herself for the people she loved but she now has to pay the consequences for her actions because something dark is coming and it is heading straight for her. She really did not think her life could get any more complicated but when another tall dark stranger walks back into her life she realises she has a decision to make. All she wants is for everyone to leave her alone and let her live the life she thought she once had but things are getting out of control fast. The love she has for Reuban can only ground her for so long and her anger is beginning to spiral out of control. If she tells him how she really feels she could lose him forever or get him killed and that is a risk she could never forgive herself for.
The Council have accepted her for what she is but has she? There is a huge possibility everyone she loves is going to die if she stays, but if she walks away she will have to leave the love of her life behind and that would rip her soul apart.
The only way out is to work with the one person she hates more than anything in this world and that was going to take a lot of self-restraint if she was going to get through this nightmare without killing him.
Reuban can see the torment within Jess and it is breaking his heart. He would do anything to ease her pain even if it meant letting her walk away, destroying him in the process. His only hope is to seek guidance from Brigate and finally understand the true meaning of Megan's Prophecy. It started with a Prophecy and it is there he will find the truth and it is a secret that could tear the Council to pieces.
A fractured alliance will be formed again with a new generation of warriors and Jess is at its centre. The war is about to begin and a destiny will finally be fulfilled!
I will also have a companion for the series as another ongoing project that will have character interviews and deleted scenes which will be released early next year.

Want to join Ty and Never on their journey and get ready for the  arrival of book four? Check out the blurb for "Tasting Never", book  one, and find out why we all heart the f*ck out of Ty McCabe!

Tasting Never, a New Adult Novel Recommended for Ages 18 and UpNever say Never Trilogy: Book One. Book Two, Finding Never, and Book Three, Keeping Never, are both available now!

"Never Ross wants to be loved.
It's that simple, but it's not that easy."

Never is a girl with a broken soul who doesn't date nice guys and
can't seem to go to bed at night without crying herself to sleep. She
doesn't need any complications in her life, especially not when
they're attached to a man that could be her emotional twin.

Ty McCabe can't stand Never the first time he meets her. He's aware
that the feeling's mutual and the two don't think they'll ever see
each other again, but when fate takes a hand and puts them both in the
wrong place at the wrong time, Ty and Never form a tentative
friendship that opens the door on their dark sides and shows them what
it's like to live in the light.

"Sometimes, the only way to go forward, is to take a few, careful steps back."

Excerpt:
Ty's hot mouth is on my neck, and I find myself taking short, sharp,
little breaths as I press my shaking hands to his chest. If I sleep
with him again, I'll be making the biggest mistake of my life. He's
the first real friend I've ever had, and I don't want to cheapen the
feelings that are simmering between us. We made that mistake once
before, and we survived. We've been through a lot since then, and I
know that if I lose him now, I will never be whole again. Ty is my
other half, lover or no, and just being around him is enough for me.
?Ty,? I say, trying my best to sound stern. Instead, my voice comes
out like a butterfly, flutters against Ty's hair and swirls it gently
against my lips. I moan and find that my fingers are now curled in
the fabric of his T-shirt.
?Never,? he says back to me, the word like fire against my skin. In
those two syllables, I hear how he feels about me. He thinks he's in
love. Ty McCabe thinks he's in love with me. He doesn't say it
aloud, but I can tell. Sex isn't the best way for me to show my
feelings; I've abused it for far too long that it has somehow lost
some of its meaning. I try to tell Ty this, but I can't speak with
his lips on my throat and his hand sliding across the nape of my neck.
I run my own hands down his chest and put them beneath his shirt, on
the hard plane of his belly. His muscles contract as I press my
fingers into them, touching, feeling, absorbing the man, the
complication, that is Ty McCabe. All the while, my mind is racing in
circles trying to talk me out of this.
?Kiss me,? Ty says and it's not a question, it's a request, albeit a
gentle one. His voice is softer than I've ever heard it. His words
are naked, stripped of all the bullshit that's happened to him, all of
the horrible things that mirror my own life. Ty and I are like twins,
like two halves of the same whole. They say that opposites attract,
but Ty and I are very much the same and the attraction between us
burns brighter than the sun. ?Kiss me,? he says again and I do.
