A Sample of RUINED
June, 2008
I cracked my knuckles, which is an awful habit, as I sat in the back of the police cruiser. I'd never been in a police car, and I made myself a vow that this would be the one and only time I ever would. I felt something sticky as I ran the fingers on my right hand across my left hand. Blood. Wishing I had access to a bathroom or at least a wet cloth, I opted instead to sit on my hands. Out of sight, out of mind. At least that was the goal, but it didn't work.
How did this happen? Shock consumed me over and over again. Regret. Guilt. Anger. Sadness. A flurry of emotions threatened to overwhelm me for the tenth time that night. Choking back another set of sobs, I slowly pulled out my hands, completely numb from sitting on them, and stared at them through the flickering lights of the two police cars. The blood was dry and caked onto my hands. The image would forever be burned into my mind. A lot of images would forever be burned into my mind. There would be no escape for me. A wall slowly crept up around me, and I knew that no one would ever be able to climb over it.
Off in the distance, I could see my distraught mother talking to a police officer on the stoop of our formerly cohesive family home. She had her arms pulled around her, as if she was hugging herself for comfort. I'd only seen her do that one other time, and it was when Grandpa died three years ago. I could see her tear stained face, and I could feel my own tears returning to sting my eyes once again. When would the tears stop? Surely a person could get dehydrated from crying, and if that was true I was in medical trouble soon.

As I watched her, I felt my mind become detached from my body as if I was watching a terrible movie with an awful ending. I could see an invisible but immensely strong wall being erected between my mother and myself. How would she ever look at me again? She would surely regret the day I was ever born, and I couldn't blame her.
I saw my mother glance at the police car that now housed her one and only child, and the grief that rocketed through her face was palpable. Her smart, popular fifteen year old daughter was locked in a police car and there was nothing she could do about it. I wasn't even sure she ever wanted to see me again.

My Review: I give this book a 4.5 !

I applaud Alicia for this debut novel. The story was compelling, fresh, and sexy.

I loved the characters in this story. Lily was grieving the loss of her family. She was beautiful, caring, and broken.  Kyle was kind, sexy and charming. Together they were perfect for one another.

I thought is was refreshing to watch Kyle bring fun back into Lily's life. The dates were unique and the sex scenes were hot as hell! Just the right amount of angst, possession, and romance. If I had to complain about one thing it would be the writing. During the beginning I found it to quite choppy. This did not improve throughout the book though.

I saw some reviews about a cliffhanger.... Yes, there is one, but it just hook, line, and sinks you for book 2.

Definitely recommend this book.

Happy Release Day to Angela Graham

Title: Irreplaceable
(Harmony Series Book 2)
Author: Angela Graham

SYNOPSIS:
It wasn’t his fault she lay broken and battered. He wasn’t responsible for the injuries covering her bruised body.
Her heart, however, told a different story. She endured the pain of its jagged edges as it shattered against her chest, ripping through the hope she once held. Her spirit was broken, and only one man was to blame for that.
Cassandra Clarke had known better than to trust her all to a man like Logan West. She’d thought he was different—a better man than he’d portrayed to others. A man worth risking it all for.
But she was wrong, and would never make that mistake again.
What happens when you question everything you longed to believe—deny all emotions you still hold for a man unworthy of them?

Faced with Logan’s persistence, Cassandra must find the strength to keep her guard up or risk falling again for the one man her body feels…is irreplaceable.

This book is intended for mature audiences.

Review: I was given an ARC for an honest review.

This book begins right where Inevitable left off. I was immediately sucked into the emotional battle Cassandra is dealing with. She loves Logan, but can't seem to forget or forgive. While she continues to heal physically, she also tries to mend a relationship.

Angela kept with her theme of romance. Nothing was rushed or overdone. You got to see how Logan and Cassandra had to fight to be together. There were more sexy scenes in this book. Which for me, were the best parts. Each one brought a certain kind of sensuality and romance.

I loved the characters in this book just as much as I did in Inevitable. Cassandra was her strong willed self, but also showed signs of confliction. Logan was playboy Logan, but also showed how lost and hurt he was. Oliver was adorable, like always! There is something so sweet about a little boy that adores his father. Caleb and Hilary were charming. We got to see more of their story, which I really enjoyed!! Julia and Luke were both sweet and last but not least Jax!! He is my favorite. Such a cocky jerk, but I can't stop smiling when reading his scenes.

What made this book a 5 star read for me was the suspense and romance. I loved how the Author came up with unique situations. This book brought a wide range of emotions. There were parts where I was on the edge of my seat, Parts where I wanted to scream at Cassandra- JUST FORGIVE HIM ALREADY!, and Parts where I was consumed by romance.

I highly recommend this book to everyone looking for a well rounded romance~

When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong–but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents . . .

But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me.

I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.

If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?

My Thoughts:

5/5 Stars!!!
This book will leave you begging for book 2.

REAL will forever be one of my favorites and
Remy will forever be one of my book boyfriends!

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this one.
From the beginning I was pulled into a suspenseful romance that had me on the edge of my seat.
The fighting parts were wrote to perfection. Each one was raw and real. I loved the characters. Remy was sexy, tough, and a tad crazy. Brooke was strong, sweet, and caring. Together they were consumed by one another. It was charming to see how they communicated through music. Not to mention the sex scenes were hot! This book had it all emotions, romance, intimacy, suspense, and friendship. I highly recommend it to all readers that love an emotional, sexy read.

Welcome Author W. Ferraro to the Blog...

Author Bio:
I live in New England with my young family. I'm a stay at home mom to two very active children. For all of you who are familiar with the stress of this job, I decided to complete an item on my bucket list and write a book. When I'm not writing, you will find me cooking, reading, shopping or being silly with the kids.

A Note from the Author:
My type of writing includes characters that are not perfect. Meaning I try to make them as real as possible. Characters with flaws and baggage. They are not perfect, they don't handle situations the best and they are not always politically correct. To me to read a story where characters are perfect and everything is lovey dovey just makes you feel not quite fulfilled at the end. I hope my style shows that true happiness and HEA can and do happen.

Meet the Author...

I am happily married to my husband of almost nine years and have two wonderful children.

I have always loved reading and writing and am thrilled to have published my first novel.

Paranormal romance is my go to genre and the genre I prefer to write in. I love the unique feel of creating an entirely different world and implementing it into the human verse.
