Are you looking for a short read with tons of emotion??
This book is for you!

I feel as though I am going through the mourning process. My heart has been ripped out and I've been left to start over. My sight was torn from me and everything I knew and loved is gone. My one true love and son were no longer alive and people filter through the room one at a time to tell me how to live again.

When Sheldon comes in he doesn't take my shit. He gives me ultimatums and eventually pulls me out of the haze I am tangled in. Love was lost, but now I believe I can love again.

Yes, that was me writing as the main female lead, but with every page I read the more consumed in the story I became. My heart strings were pulled and I emotionally felt tied to Hope.

This story is one that will remain with me for a long time. It is a story of hope and how even when you are trapped in the darkest of days, there is always a way out. The emotions and feelings you receive while reading are life changing!

I highly recommend!

Another fantastic paranormal book from Jennifer Armentrout.

This series is so different from the books I have previously read, but GOSH they are addicting.
The plot has tons of suspense, sexual tension, and unique features...

Roth is my main reason for reading.... He is arrogant, dangerous, and sexy. Though, in this book Zayne gave him a run for his money.

The story is about a teen girl trying to deal with being half demon/warden. She isn't sure what is happening, but everything she has known begins changing. The Lilin is tearing up the world and she is left to clean the mess with the help of her two men. The love triangle is prominent again and Roth remains out of the picture while Zayne makes his moves. Later in the story secrets are revealed that will leave your jaw hit the floor. The mystery is a nail biter and the romance is swoon worthy.

I highly recommend this read!!

Unteachable by Leah Raeder Review

An edgy, sexy USA TODAY bestseller about falling for the one person you can’t have.
Maise O’Malley just turned eighteen, but she’s felt like a grown-up her entire life. The summer before senior year, she has plans: get into a great film school, convince her mom to go into rehab, and absolutely do not, under any circumstances, screw up her own future.

But life has a way of throwing her plans into free-fall.

When Maise meets Evan at a carnival one night, their chemistry is immediate, intense, and short-lived. Which is exactly how she likes it: no strings. But afterward, she can’t get Evan out of her head. He’s taught her that a hookup can be something more. It can be an unexpected connection with someone who truly understands her. Someone who sees beyond her bravado to the scared but strong girl inside.

That someone turns out to be her new film class teacher, Mr. Evan Wilke.

Maise and Evan resolve to keep their hands off each other, but the attraction is too much to bear. Together, they’re real and genuine; apart, they’re just actors playing their parts for everyone else. And their masks are slipping. People start to notice. Rumors fly. When the truth comes to light in a shocking way, they may learn they were just playing parts for each other, too.

Smart, sexy, and provocative, Unteachable is about what happens when a love story goes off-script.

My Thoughts:
5/5 Stars
Wow! I love a good student/teacher romance and this one didn't disappoint one bit.

Oh the feels this book gave me....
Maise and Evan are a book couple that will forever be in my heart.
Their romance begins at a carnival. From there it goes to high school with him being her teacher. I'm sure you know how the rest goes... Secrets, lies, and sexy escapades.
The angst is thick. They know they shouldn't act on their feelings, but they can't stay away from each other. The relationship gets messy and as the truth is unveiled, ties are broken.

I loved loved loved this book!! Yes, student/teacher books have the same feel to them, but this one brought so much to the table. Talk about a page turner... The plot had just the right amount of twists and turns to leave you craving more. Once I started, I couldn't stop. The sexual tension made me squirm in my seat and the lies left my mind wandering.

I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about this book. Evan was the perfect book boyfriend. He was protective, yet dominate. He wanted control in the best of ways. Maise was a fierce lead. She was seductive and strong. Both characters complicated one another so well and their romance was quite intense.

I highly recommend this read!!

Stay With Me by J. Lynn Review

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Wait for You and Be with Me comes a daring tale that pushes boundaries . . .

My Thoughts:
3/5 Stars

I waited for the release of this book for a long time and it pains me to say that it wasn't
worth the wait.... I have loved every other book in the series, but this one fell short.

Calla has lived a hard life. Her appearance is flawed and her mental state is as well. She hides her past from everyone at school, but when things become tough she is forced to return home to a whirlwind of danger, confusion, and love.

When she goes to her mom's bar and runs face to face with Jax her heart is all kinds of conflicted. She instantly puts her guard up and tries to piece together how this hot, young guy has taken over. As the days pass Jax forces his way into Calla's business. He protects her and eventually she falls for him. Together they face scary situations and work towards building an intimate relationship.

Overall the storyline was intriguing, but I couldn't connect to the characters... Every time I started to feel for Calla she did something to make me think again. She made poor decisions and some of the scenes were just not believable.

I wish I could have enjoyed this one, but it just wasn't for me. I highly recommend the others though....

*Excerpt from Brat* By then we’d finished eating, and when the waitress asked about dessert we both declined. We traded glances across the table, and I could tell Chase was as anxious to get on with the reason for our little date in the first place. The waitress brought the check, and after arguing for five minutes over who would pay, Chase physically wrestled it from my hand. “I think I can afford a steak and a salad,” he grumbled once he’d overpowered me. “Relax, princess, this one’s on me.” After he paid, we left the restaurant and took our time walking toward Chase’s car. The sun had set and the night was clear and balmy, knocking off the chill of the restaurant comfortably. Once inside the car, Chase turned the engine on and then faced me, his stare pointed. “What is this, Chloe?” he asked, finally cutting right to the chase. “I know we said what happened this summer would be a one-time thing, and I can see how my showing up here might have shocked you. Maybe I was a little too forward, and my talking about having something more between us than a one night stand might have freaked you out a bit. I don’t blame you. It freaks me out, too. Neither of us has the rosiest past, and we couldn’t be more different as people.” He leaned toward me over the middle dash, one hand coming up to the nape of my neck. His fingers slid through my hair, trailing down to my bare shoulder, sending little shivers down my spine, which curled in my middle and shot down straight between my legs. I swallowed noisily as he came closer, his lips brushing my ear. “But damn it, Chloe, I can’t get the smell of you out of my head, or the taste of you off my tongue.” A gasp caught in my throat, and I couldn’t pull away from him. His lips found my neck, his breath racing over my skin. He kissed me there, tracing a path down toward my shoulder and one of the thin straps holding my dress up. “Chase,” I whimpered as he kissed my shoulder, his fingertips causing goose bumps to break out over my arm. “I know it’s crazy,” he murmured, “but don’t you remember how good we were together?” I shivered, remembering a tangle of arms and legs and the humid mists of the rainforest. My thighs clenched at the memory of how he’d felt between them. “Yes,” I whispered, “I do.” Chase’s lips found my jawline, tracing a slow path toward my mouth. “I remember, too,” he sighed. “Kissing you, touching you, untying the strings of that sexy little bikini of yours.” He gave my spaghetti strap a little tug for emphasis, just as I turned my head toward his. “That pretty little sound you made in the back of your throat when I touched you. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it … about you. What about you? Do you ever think about it? About me?” “All the time,” I whispered against his lips just before he kissed me. It had all started with the worst first date ever, and ended on something of a dare …   Meet the roommates of apartment 4C!

Bang by E.K. Blair Review

They say when you take revenge against another you lose a part of your innocence.
But I’m not innocent.
I haven’t been for a very long time.
My innocence was stolen from me. Taken was the life I was supposed to have. The soul I was born with. The ruby heart embedded in a life full of hopes and dreams.

Gone.
Vanished.
I never even had a choice.
I mourn that life. Mourn the what-ifs.
Until now.
I’m ready to take back what was always meant to be mine.

But every plan has a fatal flaw. Sometimes it’s the heart.

**Due to the dark and explicit nature of this book, it is recommended for mature audiences only.*

My Thoughts:
4/5 Stars

I truly do not know where to begin with this review...
I finished last night and my mind is still conflicted.
It was a love/hate relationship for me.

The Love.... Was the writing. The Author is very talented at writing an intricate story with just the right amount of details. BANG was fast paced and intriguing. The secrets were revealed slowly, but there were enough of them to keep you sucked into the story.

I appreciate the mind f the book provided. The characters were all a whirlwind of messed up. Each one had their own demons and each one dealt with them a different way. Pain was the mutual conclusion... They all craved revenge and they didn't know it at the time, but they were all pawns in one another's game.

The Hate... Nina was annoying, self centered, and a complete manipulative train wreck. I understand she went through a tough child life, but it was so hard to read about her using and abusing people. I hated being inside her messed up head. It made me bitter and quite frankly put me in a bad mood.

The subject matter was also touchy for me. I have an open mind and usually can read about all different tough circumstances, but there were some parts in this book that left me closing the book mumbling I am done. Of course, I always picked it back up and started again... but WOW! I don't know how the Author wrote some of those scenes.

All in all I think that this book was an intense, suspenseful mind twist that will leave readers wanting more at the end. I know when I read the last word I was thinking No, this can't be the end!
I applaud the Author for taking on such a crazy plot and making it her own...

Ten Below Zero by Whitney Barbetti Review

WARNING: This is not a story about two happy people who fall easily into love. This is a story about two broken people who find one another - and don't necessarily like each other. These characters are blunt, rude, and at times annoying. They are broken and sheltered and vulnerable.

This book has violence, sexual situations, and harsh language and is not recommended for those under 17.

--

“In here,” he said, pushing on the skin above my heart, “you're ten below zero. And you’re closer to death than I am.”

My name is Parker. My body is marked with scars from an attack I don’t remember. I don’t want to remember. I choose to live my life by observation, not through experience. While people are laughing and kissing and connecting, I’m in the corner. Watching them live. I’m indifferent to everything, everyone. The only emotion I feel with any kind of depth is annoyance, and I feel it often.

A text message sent to the wrong number proves to be my undoing.

His name is Everett, but I call him rude. He’s pushy, he’s arrogant, he crowds my personal space, and worst of all: he makes me feel.

He chooses to wear all black, all the time, as if he’s waiting to attend a funeral. Probably because he is.

Everett is dying. And he’s spending his final days living, truly living. In doing so, he’s forcing me to feel, to heal. To come face to face with the demons I suppressed in my memory.

He hurts me, he fulfills me, he completes me. And still, he's dying.

A story about two broken characters coming together to mend one another....

Wow! This book took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions.
Parker is a broken young woman who has dealt with many struggles in her life. She carries emotional burdens and physical flaws. She has sass and basically takes life one day at time. When she meets Everett her life is turned upside down. She finds herself questioning her feelings and slowly letting her guard down.

Parker and Everett's relationship is not an insta-love which I loved!
They pick on one another and begin their journey as friends who are brutally honest. Everett tells her when she is being cold and she tells him when he is being rude. As time progresses though Parker becomes Everett's addiction. He will do anything to see her smile. He wants her to start enjoying the life she was given. When Parker finds out that he has Cancer though her thoughts are all over the place. She can't understand why he won't get the surgery, but does everything she can to better understand. Together they travel and learn to confide in each other. They build a romantic connection and embark on a journey full of heart ache, confusion, hope, and love.

This book did not disappoint at all! I was instantly sucked into the storyline and captivated by the characters. Yeah, they weren't always lovey dovey.... but that's what made this book that much better! It was so much more romantic to watch their relationship slowly progress. We got to feel and understand exactly how the love came about. It wasn't the intimate connection... It was about the emotions and unspoken understandings. At times I felt my heart squeeze... I was pulling for them throughout the entire book and towards the end I was going crazy. My mind was all over the place trying to guess what was going to happen. I felt my heart race and at times drop. The real factor was there and I can honestly say that the ending felt like a perfect fit!

All in all it was truly a beautiful story that had hints of light and shadows of dark.
It showed that love isn't always easy... It takes time, understanding, and lots of work.
I Loved it & would Recommend it to all mature readers!
