Into The Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes

When young, pretty Catherine Bailey meets Lee Brightman, she can't believe her luck. Gorgeous, charismatic, and a bit mysterious, Lee seems almost too perfect to be true.

But what begins as flattering attention and spontaneous, passionate sex transforms into raging jealousy, and Catherine soon discovers that Lee's dazzling blue eyes and blond good looks hide a dark, violent nature. Disturbed by his increasingly erratic, controlling behavior, she tries to break it off; turning to her friends for support, she's stunned to find they don't believe her. Increasingly isolated and driven into the darkest corner of her world, a desperate Catherine plans a meticulous escape.

Four years later, Lee is behind bars and Catherine—now Cathy—is trying to build a new life in a new city. Though her body has healed, the trauma of the past still haunts her. Then Stuart Richardson, her attractive new neighbor, moves in. Encouraging her to confront her fears, he sparks unexpected hope and the possibility of love and a normal life.

Until the day the phone rings . . .

MY THOUGHTS:4/5 Stars

Into the Darkest Corner was an intense read with a major creep factor. As I was reading I found myself looking over my shoulder and double checking the door locks. It was a scary story about a woman's knight in shining armor turning into her worst nightmare... She tries to escape him, but he is a cop and has more resources than expected.

Talk about a wild ride... I was shocked by this story and especially by Catherine's rotten friends! No wonder she was struggling with OCD. She was left alone, with no one in her corner. Her friends became her enemies. Life changed and everything she knew was thrown out the door. When Stuart comes into her life she begins to change for the better. It isn't an easy journey, but he puts a bit of light into her life.

It was such a gut wrenching read that left me on the edge of my seat. I felt the dark energy seeping off the pages and it affected me like no other book. It pulled me in and held me captive long after the last page.

My only complaint is... It did become slow at times because the book was so long. There were repetitive situations and overall it just had a slower paced plot. However, that didn't take away the fact that it is a must read!

I highly recommend!

Exposed Affections by Rene Folsom Review

Exposed Affections
by Rene Folsom
Staring at the hands of two men greedily clutching her legs, Julia is frozen in place—unsure of how she should react to their dual-intimacy. It’s one thing to have her photography professor show an interest in her, but to also have his identical twin making advances puts Julia’s mind into a total state of chaotic confusion. Is she able to handle the pressure of choosing between two men, who both manage to take her breath away?

In the last week, Julia Peterson’s life has become an emotional roller coaster with breathtaking twists that include breaking all the rules with a certain professor, to gut-wrenching horror as a stalker from her past lurks behind the scenes and threatens her new happiness.

Despite her attempts to conceal her secrets and keep her friends in the dark, she must learn to cope with the idea that not all secrets are meant to stay hidden. When her haunting past comes at her with a vengeance and life is determined to beat her down, Julia must discover true strength within herself before she is able to open her heart, find who she really is, and learn to love.

Exposed Affections is the second and final novel in the Cornerstone series, contains mature content, and is meant for adult readers ages 18 and up.

My Thoughts:
5/5 Stars
Mesmerizing romance with intense sexual situations.

Let me start by saying WOW! This book will leave you breathless. When I finished I had what you call a book hangover. I couldn't get the damn book out of my mind.

In Book 1 I had a major crush on Aiden, but after this read...
I am team CODA all the way.

Aiden is a protector and I love how Julia looks to him for approval. Coda though... He is sweet, caring, and an intense lover.

Let's be real here... 2 men is any girl's fantasy. Some books that include two men though take it too far. I loved how the Author added the right amount of sexy time and an equal amount of plot.

The twist and turns in this story had me on the edge of my seat. Just when I got lost in the romance- BAM! suspense overload.

The ending surprised me and I found myself giddy over the direction things went.

If you like a nail biter with romance you will devour this one for sure.

Shuttered Affections by Rene Folsom Review

After escaping to a college town, Juliana Petersen was determined to put her troubled past behind her and make the most of life. She was satisfied with her current situation, or so she thought. It wasn’t until the day her new photography professor stole her parking spot that she realized there was such thing as lust at first sight. Now, she must struggle with the decision to break the rules and fall in love, or step back and let the chance of a lifetime pass her by—all while her past relationships come back to haunt her.

How many men will it take to break Julia’s hold on reality?

Warning: This novel contains sexual situations and is meant for adult readers ages 18 and up.

My Thoughts:
A beautiful mix of mystery and romance.
5/5 stars

This story consumed me from the beginning and had me wanting more at the end.
It starts with a young woman walking into her photography class to notice one of the best surprises ever. . . Her professor was HOT! Automatically, there was an instant connection and while they try to keep their relationship on the DL, they battle a ghost from the past.

The suspense and mystery in this book will leave you on the edge of your seat. I honestly couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the Author sent me in different direction.

The characters were relatable and charming.  Aiden was a total book boyfriend. He was kind, compassionate, and sexy as hell! Julia was a feisty one. I loved her personality and how strong/confident she was. The romance they shared was intoxicating. I loved the messages they sent each other and how intimate they were over the phone. The sexual tension was so undeniable.

This book had me feeling so many different emotions. One minute I was gushing over the romance, the next I was biting my nails- LIKE nooooo this can't be happening.

I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to all mature readers!!

Entwined with You by Sylvia Day Review

What can I say...
Gideon just never disappoints!

Wow!  Sylvia Day did it again... 5+ stars from me.

The love story continues right where book two left off. Gideon is in a predicament, forcing his and Eva's relationship to be kept a secret. They cannot stand to be apart from one another, so he decides to become her next door neighbor. After time passes and struggles are dealt with... they can finally reveal their big news.

The love in this book is breathtaking, the romance is sexy as hell, and the progress they make in their relationship is huge! I love how the Author keeps things fresh. The way she throws in characters and adds to the suspense is fabulous. I could not ask for a better book. I am infatuated with Gideon and have been since page one of book one. I could only hope book 4 will be released soon... Because I honestly cannot wait to see where Sylvia takes Gideon and Eva!~

Afflicted by Sophie Monroe

Absolutely Intoxicating 5 out 5

(Tentative Release Date June 1st 2013)

I loved Battlescars, but this sequel blew me away!
Afflicted is Piper and Blake's story.

Blake is a Rockstar and Piper is a tattoo artist, together they are an intoxicating, yet confusing pair! While Blake faces issues with rejection, Piper deals with an alcoholic/ex military boyfriend. They try to deny their feelings for one another, but when they head to camp for a week... sparks re-ignite. When they get back to reality though Piper is torn between her feelings for Blake and her emotional connection with her boyfriend. The Author makes Alcoholism her focus and does a wonderful job describing what one has to go through in order to let go... Blake and Piper are on and off throughout the whole book so when a huge secret is revealed you are on the edge of your seat waiting to read about the characters reactions. How will they react? and What is the Secret? Read to find out!

The Author did a great job with this book! The emotions consume you and the characters had you rooting for them. I thought the storyline was well thought out and the plot was exciting. Just when you thought you had it all figured out, the Author added another twist...  I would recommend this book to everyone. It has romance, suspense, and most importantly it touches on real topics.

My Favorite Excerpt:

"Just as we were just pulling up to the cabin it started to rain heavily. Blake came
and acted as my human shield attempting to keep me dry. Once we made it inside he
pressed me up against the door claiming my mouth. I parted my lips allowing his tongue
to graze against mine igniting a fire inside me. Using my fingers to pull the hair on the
back of his head, since he seemed to like it I pushed him back to the bed. Straddling his
waist I took full control of the situation." - Piper

Never Let You Go by Erin Healy

Intense 4 out of 5

Never Let You Go was an intense emotional read. It is about a young woman who has been through hell and back... She is raising her daughter alone since her husband left town, her sister was killed by her ex boyfriend, and her dad is in a retirement home fighting his own demons. When her husband comes back in town so does a ghost from the past. Lexi is threatened with her daughters life and drugs because her husband owes money. The ending is kind of hard to follow, but overall the book was great! It was an emotional rollercoaster that had twists and turns- leaving you with questions and making you want more. The characters had strong personalities and were very relatable. If you are looking for an suspense, pick this one!

Battlescars:A Rock & Roll Romance by Sophie Monroe

Battlescars gets a 5 out of 5 from me.

This book sucked me in from the beginning and had me wanting more at the end. The author did an excellent job creating characters and maintaining their personalities throughout the whole story...
The book is about a young woman who works as a flight attendent for her dad's jet service. When hott rocker Jake Parker steps on the plane her world is turned upside down. At first she tries to keep him at arms length, but she becomes attached and consumed by him in no time. Each character has lived through their own hell, so as they grow closer and their relationship grows deeper they uncover their secrets to one another. You get to experience their first encounter through their wedding, along with other surprises. The story has suspense, an intense love, and some adult material. Along with an excellent storyline the author also tied in current music which I found to be great!

Everyone needs to read this book. I am thankful that I got the chance to!
