Arsen: A Broken Love Story by Mia Asher

One glance was all it took…

I'm a cheater.
I'm a liar.
My whole life is a mess.
I love a man.
No, I love two men…
I think.

One makes love to me. The other sets me on fire.
One is my rock. The other is my kryptonite.

I'm broken, lost, and disgusted with myself.

But I can't stop. This is my story.
My broken love story.

My Thoughts:
5/5 mind blowing stars!

This book left me with the biggest book hangover ever. I feel gutted and empty.
The emotions in Arsen are real and raw. With each page I turned, I felt more and more.
The Author did a fabulous job writing so the reader felt like they were living the lives of the characters. I honestly can't express how much I loved this book...

Cathy has it all, or so everyone thinks she has it all... She has a nice house, a perfect husband, and a dream job but something is missing. After experiencing multiple miscarriages she wants to be forget about that life and move on with new things. Arsen comes into the picture like a wildfire. He is hot, cocky, and Cathy is tempted. She tries to stay loyal, but eventually she gives in. Struggling with her feelings for two men she learns that she could risk losing both.

This book was just fabulous. It well written & provoked tons of thought. There was a lesson within it as well. About love and how things may seem better at first, but sooner or later you will regret and want what you once had. It makes you realize that lies flow out easily, but eventually you will get tangled up in them.

I truly highly recommend this book.

Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher Review

When reclusive novelist Senna Richards wakes up on her thirty-third birthday, everything has changed. Caged behind an electrical fence, locked in a house in the middle of the snow, Senna is left to decode the clues to find out why she was taken. If she wants her freedom, she has to take a close look at her past. But, her past has a heartbeat…and her kidnapper is nowhere to be found. With her survival hanging by a thread, Senna soon realizes this is a game. A dangerous one. Only the truth can set her free.

My Thoughts:
5/5 Stars

This beautiful story was filled with tragedy, hope, mystery, undying love, and gut wrenching emotion.

Words really can't express how much I loved this book.
The storyline was unique and with each page I became more and more consumed.

Senna is a woman dealing with emotional instability. Due to heartbreak and life changing events, she thrives to feel. After a unexpected event, a tragic diagnosis and one oncological surgeon her life is turned upside down. She falls for him, but can't seem to express her true feelings.

When she wakes up in a un known place and finds Issac tied up she feels lost and confused. Together they have to face being abandoned, hungry, and upset. Through the pain and hard times they find love... an all consuming love.

This book was well written and had me begging for more with each turn of the page. I loved the mystery aspect and I loved the lesson behind the book. To me, this book shows that love is about not giving up and sacrificing everything for one another. With them being locked away together, Senna was forced to express herself and how she truly felt through her actions. She was forced to feel in the deepest way.

The romance in this book is not your typical romance. It is dark and twisted. It will mess with your mind and have you thinking "What the heck is going on?".

This story grabbed my heart and squeezed tightly.
I highly recommend this read!

Barely Breathing by Rebecca Donovan Review

Emma’s struggle with an abusive home life came to a heart pounding conclusion in the final chapters of "Reason to Breathe". Now everyone in Weslyn knows Emma’s secret, but Carol can’t hurt Emma anymore. Some are still haunted by the horror of that night, and some must face the repercussions of their choices. Fans of Rebecca Donovan’s debut novel will discover there’s still much to learn about Emma’s life.

My Thoughts:
5/5 Stars

I loved this book even more than I loved the first.
It was raw and emotional, just like I like it.

Emma is still trying to recover from the abuse she suffered while living with her Uncle & Aunt.
She decides it is best to move in with her Mother and give it a chance. Too bad she is an addict. Her Mother drinks and comes home to berate Emma any way she can. She blames her for her Fathers death and judges her relationship with Johnathan (Her Mother's Boyfriend).

Evan is trying to make mends and keep her, but she is slowly slipping through his fingertips.
The closer she becomes with Johnathan, the better she feels. They discuss there brutal pasts and face their fears head on. I LOVED Johnathon. I wanted an HEA with them. He was edgy, dangerous, hot, kind, and everything that makes a good book boyfriend.

The emotion in this book can be felt by just reading it. My heart ached for Emma and I just wanted her Mother out of the picture.

I highly recommend this book.

Out of Breathe by Rebecca Donovan Review

Emma leaves Weslyn and everyone in it behind to attend Stanford University, just as she always intended. A shell of her former self, she is not the same girl. She Is broken, and the only way that she’ll be whole again is through forgiveness. Emma must find a way to forgive herself and recognize her own worth before she can receive the love she deserves. This final installment will have readers holding their breath until the very last page.

My Thoughts:
2/5 Stars

It pains me to write this review. As much as I wanted to love it, I didn't.
In the previous two books I connected with Emma and felt for her in the deepest way.
This book lacked the emotional connection I was looking for.
I actually hated Emma in this book. I didn't feel bad her one bit... She used Cole, treated Evan like crap, and did reckless things. I am not sure how she went from the girl in book 2 to this girl, but I wasn't a fan.

Evan's perspective was another downer for me... It was too much to take in and when reading an emotional book, I like a little mystery. I don't want to know what every character is thinking. I want to see what Emma is going through and other's reactions, through her perspective.

I wish I would have stopped at book 2 because that book was fabulous. I truly feel this book was unnecessary for me. I would rather end it with her leaving then end with Evan and her back together.

Can't recommend at this time.

Room for More by Beth Ehemann Review

Four years ago, my dreams were shattered in an instant. Three months ago, I found something I haven’t had in years. Hope. That hope came in the form of a sexy, carefree hockey player named Brody Murphy. He swooped in and won me over with his big heart and the way he cared for me…and my girls. When they look at him, they see the father they’ve never had. Now, my past and present are colliding and the outcome might just be too much for me to bear. Can I make the right decision when I’ve spent my whole life making the wrong ones?

Holy Goodness!!
I loved book 1 and this book was just as good.

Kacie is working at the hospital and runs into a ghost from the past.
Struggling with whether to tell Brody or not ... She is emotional and stressed out.
Just when she decides to tell him everything, it is too late.
Together they make the best decision for the girls and work on their future.
There is romance, struggles, and family problems.
It is addicting!!

Brody is just as delicious in this book. He deals with family issues and realizes just how in love with Kacie he is. At the end of the book you see one of the sweetest proposals ever!!! I don't want to spoil it... but SWOON... it was so unique, and cute, and sweet, and AMAZING.

I read this book in one night and crave more already.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND

My Thoughts on Returning Books...

I have seen a lot of posts going back and forth with thoughts on returns.
My feelings on this situation differ from others, I'm sure. Reason being... I rarely buy ebooks. I think I could count on both hands how many I have purchased in the past 2 years. When I purchase an ebook it is strictly to support the Author, therefore I have no reason to return.

Since I buy most books in paperback each trip to the bookstore is risky business. I read the synopsis, a few pages, and leave with no thoughts of returning. *Hell* I didn't even know you could return books to a bookstore until recently. I guess you could call me old fashioned, but if I pick a book that sucks... that is on me. I don't blame the Author, I don't return, I simply place it on my shelf or put it in the box to be donated/sold.

Now it may be different, but I look at shopping for ebooks the same way. All ebooks have a synopsis and most ebooks have a sample on Amazon, read them. Once you do that I see no reason to return. If you want to leave a review speaking your thoughts, by all means do so. I think that is the best way to get your feelings out. Plus, it helps other readers decide if they would enjoy the book.

When you think about all the time put into a book and look at the price you pay for an ebook ... it makes no sense. The Authors are giving you a deal!  Be appreciative and put it on yourself when you pick a sucky book.

With all that being said... Authors that openly complain about returns on their fan pages look very unprofessional. Writing is your career and the readers are your supporters. I am sure you have many more readers keeping your books, than returning... why not focus on them.

Everyone has their right to choose what they want to do in the end. There are people who return a book that sucks, more power to them (I wouldn't do it) and there are people who return a book that they enjoy just to get it for free (Disgusting). The problem is... no one will ever know what those returns were for. However, all the sales, rankings, and income coming in shows that people are enjoying your book/books. Celebrate the sales/support and let the negative shit behind.

My Thoughts:
4/5 Stars

I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick, sexy read with lots of emotion.

Dahlia met River when she was with her long term boyfriend/fiancé and couldn't forget about him. When tragedy strikes she goes into depression and it is River who pulls her from it. He opens her eyes to love and helps her live again.

This book had a lot of angst which I loved! There was a hint of mystery and UGH! That cliffhanger at the end did me in. I needed book 2 immediately.

I highly recommend this book. River is SEXY and the romance is hot <3

Poughkeepsie by Debra Anastasia Review

He counts her smiles every day and night at the train station. And morning and evening, the beautiful commuter acknowledges him—just like she does everyone else on the platform. But Blake Hartt is not like the others . . . he’s homeless. Memories of a broken childhood have robbed him of peace and twisted delusions into his soul. He stays secluded from the sun, sure the world would

Each day, Livia McHugh smiles politely and acknowledges her fellow commuters as she waits for the train to the city. She dismisses this kindness as nothing special, just like her. She’s the same as a million other girls—certainly no one to be cherished. But special or not, she smiles every day, never imagining that someone would rely on the simple gesture as if it were air to breathe.

When the moment comes that Livia must do more than smile, without hesitation she steps into the fray to defend the homeless man. And she's surprised to discover an inexplicable connection with her new friend. After danger subsides, their smiles become conversation. Their words usher in a friendship, which awakens something in each of them. But it’s not long before their bond must prove its strength. Entanglements from the past challenge both their love and their lives.
Blake’s heart beats for Livia’s, even if her hands have to keep its rhythm. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love never fails. Love never fails, right?

In an interwoven tale of unlikely loves and relationships forged by fire, Debra Anastasia takes readers into the darkest corners of human existence, only to show them the radiant power of pure adoration and true sacrifice. Complicated families and confused souls find their way to light in this novel, which manages to be racy, profane, funny, and reverent all at once.
run from him in the harsh light of day.

My Thoughts:
5/5 Stars

This was one of the most beautiful, well written books I have ever read. Each sentence held my interest and every word consumed my heart.

Poughkeepsie is about a young woman (Livia) befriending a homeless man (Blake) and falling head over heels for him. She is engaged to a man who she wants nothing to do with and when he finds out about Blake, he snaps. Together Livia & Blake battle with reality and try to make their relationship work. There is romance, suspense, friendships, and family all tangled into a beautiful work of words.

Let's talk about Mr. Green Eyes ...
Blake is straight up weird, but in some sick fucked up way he is HOT! The gentleman manners, his sexy looks, and the way he doted on Livia... had me eating out of his palm. He is probably my favorite book boyfriend ever because he wasn't the biker, billionaire, normal book boyfriend you read about. I also have to admit... the ski mask made me squirm and not in a bad way. There was something so intimate in the way he removed it for her. SWOON!

The lesson...
This story is fiction, but it couldn't have felt more real. It left me wanting to befriend a homeless man and it made me want to be a better person.  The Author made it a point to show that it's the little things in life that matter most... like sharing breakfast sandwiches or counting smiles.

I really can't recommend this book more!
It will remain on my "Favorites of All Time List" for a longtime.

*Please keep in mind this is a darker read with some sexual and violent scenes.*

Relentless by Cassia Leo Review

Book One in the NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY bestselling series.

Would you bet your deepest secrets for a second-chance at love?

Claire Nixon is a college student with a past full of secrets and
heartbreak.

At seven years old, the death of her mother by drug overdose destroys her faith in humanity and herself as she is tossed from one foster home to another. Feeling unwanted and disposable, she fights to keep herself safe in the system. Until, at the age of fifteen, she is saved by her first love, and soon-to-be rock star, Chris Knight and his mother, who quickly becomes the mother she always wanted.

When Claire encourages Chris to leave town to pursue his dreams of musical stardom, both Claire and Chris don't realize this will be the biggest mistake of their lives.

One year after Chris leaves on tour, Claire has carved out a new life for herself in a new city far away from the life she left behind with Chris. On a fateful morning, she meets sexy surfer Adam Parker.

To Claire, Adam is just another flirty customer at the cafe, until a chance encounter and seemingly innocent comment spurs a bet between them. The bet is simple: If Adam can get Claire to reveal the secret that made her drop out of college and leave her life behind, she has to re-enroll. If he doesn't succeed, she gets to keep her secret and he has to stop stalking her at the cafe.

Claire thinks she has this one in the bag. She's perfected the art of forgetting her past. But she isn't prepared for Adam's relentless pursuit or for him to share his own secrets. And she's definitely not prepared for the love of her life, Chris Knight, and her secret, to come banging down her door one year later.

New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language, drug use, and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

My Thoughts:
4/5 Stars

This was a book full of heart and passion.

Claire and Adam meet at the beginning of the book and there is an instant connection. They pursue an angsty relationship and Adam is destined to find out why she dropped out of school. As their feelings grow, secrets become unveiled and parts of the past resurface.

I loved Adam. He was cocky, caring, sexy, witty, and everything a book boyfriend should be. Claire was beautiful, emotionally damaged, and kind hearted. Together their romance pulled me in and wouldn't let me go.

The depth of this book is exquisite. I love a book that can tug on your heart strings and have you trying to guess what will happen next... This one did just that!

The jokes were a cute touch and the banter between the two left me smiling.

My only complaint would be the first few chapters were slow, once I got to chapter 4 I was hooked.
When I finished the book I wanted book 2 immediately. I highly recommend it!

Even transferring to a new college and living under the watchful eye of her older sister, Renee, isn't enough to help her feel normal again.

My Thoughts:
4/5 Stars

If you love a book packed with romance, angst, and mystery... This one is for you!
I devoured this book in two days and I didn't want it to end. The story was full of twists and turns that led to an angsty romance. Both characters carry heavy burdens from their pasts and when they start to fall for one another secrets are slowly revealed. The sexual tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife and when they finally give in... it's fireworks!!

The emotional depth of this book will tug on your heartstrings. It really proves how important family ties and friendships are when dealing with life changing events.

One thing unique about this book are the character's traits. They are different and not perfect like the usual... I LOVED THEM!

Highly Recommend.
